Surya Namaskar
Surya Namaskar
Surya Namaskar is a practice in yoga as exercise incorporating a sequence of twelve gracefully linked asanas. It is also known as ‘Salute to the Sun’ or ‘Sun Salutation’, which was first recorded as yoga in the early 20th century.
“An ancient technique of expressing gratitude to the sun, the source of all forms of life on the planet.”
Symbolically, the sun becomes our source of energy as well.
Moreover, the ancient rishis of India have established that the different parts of the body are governed by different devas. In which, devas are the divine impulses or divine light.
For example, the solar plexus located behind the navel is connected to the sun. It is the central point of the human body, which is also known as the second brain.
The ancient rishis recommended the practice of Surya Namaskar to increase creativity and intuitive abilities by enhancing the solar plexus.
