AYURVEDA IN THAILAND π΄Β WELCOME TO MANGOSTEEN AYURVEDA & WELLNESS RESORT
Ayurveda
Ayurvedic medicine (βAyurvedaβ for short) is one of the world’s oldest holistic (βwhole-bodyβ) healing systems. It is a system that was developed more than 3,000 years ago in India and since improved and perfected to the state it is known for today. Itβs based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. Its main goal is to promote good health, not to fight disease. The Mangosteen Resort team now offers authentic Ayurveda in Thailand.
But treatments may be geared toward specific health problems like weight-loss, detox, stress-relief, energy-replenishment and much more.
Ayurveda treatment is considered an alternative form of medicine, and practitioners of this ancient treatment believe that everything in the universe β dead or alive β is connected. If your mind, body, and spirit are in harmony with the universe, you have good health. When something disrupts this balance, you are more prone to get sick. Among the things that can upset this balance are genetic or birth defects, injuries, climate and seasonal change, age, and your emotions.
Those who practice Ayurveda believe every person is made of five basic elements found in the universe: space, air, fire, water, and earth.
These combine in the human body to form three life forces or energies, called “Doshas”. They control how your body works. They are Vata Dosha (space and air); Pitta Dosha (fire and water); and Kapha Dosha (water and earth).
Everyone inherits a unique mix of the three Doshas. But one is usually stronger than the others. Each one controls a different body function. Itβs believed that your chances of getting sick – and the health issues you develop – are linked to the balance of your Doshas. More…Β

Ayurveda Therapeutic Benefits – Ayurveda Oil Massage

Therapeutic Benefits
Oil massage is consistently used throughout Ayurvedic massage treatments. Its calm approach means that recipients are not only induced into a relaxed state during the massage, they also often report an improvement in their sleep patterns and general sense of wellbeing. In an ideal world, Ayurvedic massage would be carried out daily to help keep at bay the effects that everyday stresses and strains can have on our minds and bodies.
During an Ayurvedic massage a subtle transfer of electromagnetic energy takes place between the therapist and the client, so it is important to trust and feel βgood vibesβ with your chosen therapist. One must feel receptive and safe to allow the energy of the therapist. In turn, a wave of unconditional love and compassion flows through the therapist as they respect the faith you have placed in them, an honor not taken lightly. Perhaps thatβs why the Ayurvedic word for oil is Sneha; a term also synonymous with love, kindness, and tenderness; all the feelings that should engulf you during an Ayurvedic body massage. If love is a panacea, then an Ayurvedic oil massage is a fantastic way to get a good dose of unconditional love.
If you never had one you might be wondering what an Ayurveda Massage Treatment is and how is it different from a regular massage, try one for yourself at Mangosteen Resort in Phuket.

Dr. Nezeem Kadavil Uthuman
Ayurveda Doctor
Dr. Nezeem was born and brought up in an Ayurveda background in Kerala, inspired by his father who was a Gov.Β Ayurvedic Medical Officer, having experience of over 50 years. From childhood until now he has been influenced by the success of his father in his Ayurveda practicing skills.
He decided to follow in his fatherβs footsteps and successfully studied βBachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS)β and also got a βPG Diploma in Hospital Managementβ. To further enhance his skills, he specialized in Marma Therapy.
After his studies, he focused on learning classical ways of Ayurvedic treatment for which he joined Sitaram Ayurveda Hospital, one of the most reputed hospitals in Kerala.
He later spent 5 years working with his father, his absolute best teacher in Ayurveda and in life, working with Kama Ayurveda which is one of the leading luxury brands in India. Working with his father helped him to learn to treat all general diseases and our day-to-day diseases which are caused by unhealthy lifestyles like arthritis, paralysis, old age problems, general pain, sciatic disease, etc.
Later he moved to Morocco where he was working as a doctor in an authentic Ayurveda Centre where he learned a different approach of consultation, which means having to make understand or make-belief what is traditional Indian system and how it works. So, he included the classical way of an approach calledβ Nadi Parikshaβ. Nadi Pariksha is the ancient ayurvedic technique of diagnosing through the pulse. It can accurately diagnose physical, mental, and emotional imbalances as well as disease. Along with that he is specialized in βMarma Chikitsa β, which means the application of pressure on vital points induces the flow of energy using hand technique.
