The poultice or bag of herbs is prepared out of herbal powders such as Alpinia galangal, sandalwood, dry ginger, fried with a little rock salt and wild red rice. There are 2 ways of application depending on the DOSHAS involved - DRY with just the pan heat or WET with dipping in warm decoctions or medicated Ayurveda oils. Soaked in herbal oil or decoction or dry it is applied to massage the whole body followed by a bath in moderately warm water.
